Course Description.
Topics – unit 1: “In giro per l’Italia” (Wandering around in Italy); unit 2: “Quando ero piccola“ (When I was a little girl); unit 3: “Un tipo interessante” (An interesting guy)
Grammatical aspects – review of previous content, the verb piacere (to please/to like), direct pronouns, the imperative mode (2nd person), comparatives, the imperfect (indicative), the use of the near past and the imperfect, the particle there, altered nouns; review of previous content, neither … nor, some pronominal verbs, the comparative with quanto/come (as much as/like, the present conditional, someone/none.
Course Objectives.
Upon completion of this course, the student will be able to:
- read texts, listen to and understand audio-visual sources devoted to the topic of clothing and its vocabulary, memories and habits of the past.
- talk about clothing, personal likes and dislikes, express doubts, ask and give advice about clothing and fashion, talk about memories, describe situations, express for or against something.
- read texts, listen to and understand audio-visual sources focusing on physical and character descriptions of individuals, cultural and social events.
The course is for those who have a knowledge of Italian that would allow them to access this level or those who would benefit from a review from this level.

Course Description.
Topics -, unit 4: “Ti va di venire?” (Would you like to come?) unit 5: “Buon viaggio!” (Have a good trip!); unit 6: “A tavola!” (To the table!)
Grammatical Aspects – stare (a verb between to be and to stay describing current status) + gerund, direct pronouns + have, the concordance between the past participle and direct pronouns, direct and indirect pronouns with the infinitive, relative pronouns; the indicative imperfect of want, the past tense of know and know, the use of the past tense and the imperfect, the verb volerci (need to do/must or should do), the verb serve, the irregular imperative and the negative imperative in the second person singular, pronoun position with the imperative mode.
Course Objectives.
Upon completion of this course, the student will be able to:
- describe people from a physical and character point of view, talk about the organization of social events, refuse and accept an invitation, make a proposal, accept and refuse a proposal, make a wish, book a theater ticket.
- read texts, listen to and understand audio-visual sources centered on the topics of vacations and habits adopted on vacation, of travel, of eating habits, food and health.
- talk about one’s travel habits and preferences, ask and get information during a trip, express surprise, ask questions about the length of a trip, talk about healthy eating, talk about social media interaction, talk about food and eating habits.
This course is for those who have a working knowledge of Italian that would allow them to access this level or those who would benefit from a review from this level.

Course Description.
Topics – unit 7: “Come va?” (How do you do?); unit 8: “Egregio Dottor …” (Dear Dr. …)
Grammatical aspects – review of previous content, the imperative and negative imperative with Lei (You) and voi (plural you), the position of pronouns with the imperative mode, the comparative and superlative of good and well, the future simple, bisogna (must to/need to), the hypothetical period of reality (of the first kind).
Course Objectives.
Upon completion of this course, the student will be able to:
- read texts, listen to and understand audio-visual sources dealing with topics related to health problems, sports and its vocabulary, future actions, job offers, and the world of work.
- talk about health problems, describe symptoms, make suggestions about sports and health, talk about sports activities, talk about future plans, express wishes and intentions, apply for a job offer, talk about a job and working conditions.
The course is for those who have a knowledge of Italian that would allow them to access this level or those who would benefit from a review from this level.

Course Description.
Topics – unit 9: “Colpo di fulmine” (Love at first sight); unit 10: “Casa dolce casa” (Home sweet home)
Grammatical aspects – review of previous content, mentre/durante (while/during), stare per (to be on the verge of doing something) + infinitive, the near past of modal verbs, some concluding conjunctions, the present subjunctive of regular verbs ending in –are, -ere, -ire, the present subjunctive of some irregular verbs, the use of the subjunctive to express need, hope, and personal opinions, the comparative form more … than/that, magari (extremely versatile and useful word meaning maybe/perhaps/I wish!, among others).
Course Objectives.
Upon completion of this course, the student will be able to:
- read texts, listen to and understand audio-visual sources focusing on topics such as feelings and love at first sight, houses and apartments.
- talk about feelings, narrate and ask to narrate events, talk about events that occurred at a specific time, communicate disappointment, describe a house and apartment, express needs and desires, speak for or against something, compare things.
