The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation (DGDP) offers contributions for:
- the travel and living expenses (as a post-visit contribution) of Italian or foreign researchers, lecturers, experts, cultural personalities and cultural workers who have been residing in Italy for at least two years, invited abroad by foreign university or cultural institutions;
- the travel and living expenses (as a post-visit contribution) of foreign or Italian researchers, professors, experts, cultural personalities and cultural workers who have been residing abroad, invited by Italian university and cultural institutions in order to promote their collaborations and joint research programs.
Recipients of the contributions
Researchers, professors, experts, personalities and cultural workers, whether
- Italians or foreigners who have been residing in Italy for at least two years, invited by foreign universities or cultural institutions for study or research purposes; or
- foreigners or Italians who have been residing abroad, invited by Italian university or cultural institutions for study or research purposes,
may apply for a financial contribution to partially cover travel and accommodation expenses, paid as a lump sum for the maximum amount of 1,500 and 3,000 euros depending on the destination and for a maximum period of 10 days of activity.
Procedures for application and payment
Interested parties may submit their application to the Italian Cultural Institute in Beirut by mail at iicbeirut@esteri.it and to the Ministry’s IIC Coordination Unit (dgdp.unic.cap2619@esteri.it).
Application approval process
Attention is drawn to the fact that the Ministry will accept only applications from applicants who have an official invitation from a university or cultural institution, preferably within the framework of existing bilateral Cultural Cooperation Executive Agreements and Programs. In the case of Italian or foreign applicants residing in Italy, the invitation must be received from a foreign university or cultural institution; in the case of foreign or Italian applicants residing abroad, the invitation must be received from an Italian university or cultural institution.
Applicants submit to this Institute an application – via email – together with a letter of invitation, a letter of acceptance, a curriculum vitae, a copy of a valid identity document, traveling documents (tickets), boarding passes, certificate of stay issued by the host institution, and a final report of activity.
