“Thus Spoke Umberto Eco,” a collection of articles and interviews by/with Umberto Eco,
by Dr. Nassim Daher, an expert in law and economic sciences.
The book presents a collection of articles and interviews by and with Umberto Eco, which appeared mainly in the French press and were unpublished in Italy. The selection and translation of the articles, published by Dar El Farabi in collaboration with the Italian Cultural Institute in Beirut, was directed by Alexander Habache and Ghazi Berro, editor and animator of the Atelier Oser Dire. Through this initiative, the aim was to make the work and thought of one of the best known and most important Italian thinkers known in this geographical area.
The XXIV edition (Oct. 14-20, 2024) of the SLIM has as its theme “Italian and the book: the world between the lines”, and aims to exploring the nexus between language and literature in the contemporary world, while enhancing the role of the book as a vehicle of Italian cultural heritage, values and identity.
The Settimana della Lingua Italiana nel mondo (SLIM) is an annual event, organized by the diplomatic-consular network and the Italian Cultural Institutes in collaboration with the main partners of language promotion in the territory. Since its inception in 2001, this event has received annually the High Patronage from the Presidency of the Republic, becoming over time the most important event dedicated to our language on a global scale. Each year, the Week is dedicated to a different theme, which serves as a common thread for a rich program of lectures, exhibitions and meetings.
