VII EDITION OF THE WEEK OF ITALIAN CUISINE IN THE WORLD | FLORENCE – CENTRAL MARKET

VIIth Edition of the Week of Italian Cuisine in the World
“Conviviality, sustainability and innovation: the ingredients of Italian cuisine
for people’s health and for the protection of the planet”

The Italian Cultural Institute of Beirut presents 4 docufilms – made by Stefilm as part of the “Food Markets” series – on the markets of Turin, Florence, Palermo and Cagliari.

The second docufilm is on the Market of Florence.

The Renaissance capital reveals its peasant roots when it comes to food. On the table, you cannot find any flavor that does not have a special story: the “schiacciata” was a way of recycling the leftovers of dough for bread, the “ribollita” was the soup that had to last a week and the “lampredotto” was the waste of butchers, made delicious with a vegetable broth and a crunchy bun. This tradition is renewed every day at the Central Market in Florence. From the hills of Fiesole to the village of Certaldo, up to the San Marcello Nature Reserve, we will discover the Tuscan landscape by letting ourselves be guided by Gluttony!
