VI Week of Italian Cuisine in the World
On the occasion of the VI Week of Italian Cuisine in the World, Casa Artusi and the Italian Cultural Institute present the Virtual Exhibition “THE HISTORY OF SPAGHETTI WITH TOMATO SAUCE“.
The exhibition tells, through the texts of Prof. Montanari – the greatest Italian expert in the history of food – as well as through the extraordinary drawings of the artist Luciano Ragozzino and the texts of Monica Alba and Giovanna Frosini, the history of the Italian dish par excellence.
We could not miss to pay a repeated homage to Pellegrino Artusi, the first to include in his famous recipe book ten recipes for seasoning spaghetti, then considered a Neapolitan specialty and then became a symbol of Italian cuisine. Furthermore, the exhibition could not forget, on the 700th anniversary of Dante Alighieri’s death, the vermicelli at the time of Dante and the tribute that Artusi pays to the great poet.
