Cella Monte, Monferrato (AL)
The last performance of Place To Be takes place in the Monferrato vineyards, between the vine rows of Cella Monte. Recognized by UNESCO as a World Heritage Site, Cella Monte is an enchanting village that must be discovered and savored, between wine tastings, agnolotti, infernot and incredible musical performances such as the one to be held on September 23rd with Nu Guinea.
Nu Guinea are Massimo Di Lena and Lucio Aquilina and in order to tell about them (and listen to them) we must go back to the “techno” heart of Naples, to the cold colors of the second half of the double zero years. The two started collaborating a few years later, when their images turned to warm and blurry tones, in the sound stasis that surrounded them. They decided to change cities and start from scratch with a new “shape” that would tell about new passions. So goodbye Naples and welcome to Berlin, where they start their research on the sounds of Naples in the 70s and 80s and on those of a South corner of the world, vast and far from cliché, which is a continuous inspiration (Cuba, Brazil, Nigeria, India). Thus was born the Nu Guinea project, which mixes funk, afro flavors and (naturally) the Neapolitan dialect, with a truly unique nonchalance in the world.
The show is available starting 7 pm (Italian time) in live streaming on Dice TV (http://bit.ly/PTB_nuguinea), upon registration, and subsequently on demand (from 25/09) on www.italianmusicfestivals.com
