The Italian Cultural Institute in Beirut has the pleasure to present “Hole”, a bi-personal exhibition by Micaela Legnaioli and Franco Losvizzero, organized under the patronage of the Lebanese Embassy in Italy and of the Italian Cultural Institute in Beirut.
The exhibition will open on Friday, June9th 2023 from 6pm to 9pm at Rebirth Beirut’s cultural space in Gemmayzeh, and will close on June 30th.
As Legnaioli digs into the metal sheets – here with steel tips, there with acid – so Losvizzero digs inside himself to access a deep memory, “as if it were a hole in the unconscious” which projects him into a surreal realm, of dreams and – therefore, of the nightmare. Together, the two Italian artists and Rebirth Beirut, are building a bridge between Italy and Lebanon to overcome barriers, beyond wars, beyond pollution, beyond the wounds of which Beirut is a painful testimony but also an example of great rebirth.
