DUE TO UNFORSEEN EVENTS,
THE CONCERT HAS BEEN CANCELLED
The Italian Cultural Institute presents a concert by the Syntax Ensemble, featuring Francesco D’Orazio (violin), Clara Belladone (viola), and Maurilio Cacciatore (electronics).
On the centenary of the birth of Luciano Berio (1925–2025), Altre Sequenze is a program that aims to pay tribute to one of the greatest innovators of 20th-century music, intertwining his emblematic works with contemporary compositions.
Berio’s Sequenze, true laboratories for sound research, explore the expressive potential of solo instruments: Sequenza VI for viola (1967) is an explosion of rhythmic energy and timbral tension, while Sequenza VIII for violin (1976) stands out for its melodic and structural depth.
In dialogue with these masterpieces, the works of Maurilio Cacciatore offer a contemporary sonic perspective: Breve VI (2023) for violin solo is an intense sonic microform, while Inside, Insight (2025), in its world premiere, proposes an introspective dialogue between violin and viola, united by the real-time processing of both instruments.
Completing the program is a selection of Berio’s Duetti (1979–1983), small gems of chamber writing that bear witness to his inexhaustible creativity.
