The Italian-Lebanese archaeological missions in Lebanon: sharing experiences and research prospects

A Study Day dedicated to the Italian-Lebanese archaeological missions activated in recent years, in the Auditorium of the Lebanese University-Hadat Campus. Opening of the Day by the Minister of Culture Mohamad Wissam Mortada, the Rector of the Lebanese University Fouad Ayoub and the Italian Ambassador Nicoletta Bombardiere. Closing speech by Sarkis El Khoury, Director of the General Directorate of Antiquities of Lebanon. The Day aims to heighten the existing collaborations and the goals achieved so far. It also aims to valorize the positive effects, present and future, of these missions in regards to strengthening the development of the economy as well as the social life of the communities in which they are located, from North Lebanon to its South.

The local heads of mission come from the DGA and the Lebanese University, while the Italian heads of mission come from the CNR, the “Suor Orsola Benincasa” University of Naples, the University of Udine, the “La Sapienza” University of Rome and the University of Sassari.
