The Italian Cultural Institute in Lebanon and the Metropolis Association, in partnership with the Venice Biennale are pleased to present for the first time in Lebanon Venezia Cinema. This event that will be held at Metropolis Empire Sofil between the 20th and the 25th of February 2014 and which will become a yearly event will present a broad selection of recent and classic films that were screened during the 70th edition of the Venice Biennale. Among the guests of honor, Dr Luigi Cuciniello, director of Venezia Cinema Biennale, who will present the opening film A Lonely Heart (L’Intrepido) by Gianni Amelio and the actress Elena Cotta who won the Volpi Cup for best actress in A Street in Palermo (Via Castellana Bandiera). Also in the program, the restored version of two classics, Bread and Chocolate (Pane e cioccolata) and Property is No Longer a Theft (La proprietà non è più un furto) which was nominated for the Golden Bear award at the International Film Festival of Berlin in 1973.
