SCREENING OF THE MOVIE “THE DINNER” (1984) BY ETTORE SCOLA

In the framework of the 1st Italian Culinary Week, the Italian Cultural Institute, in collaboration with the Metropolis Cinema Association, organizes the screening of the movie “The Dinner” (1984) by Ettore Scola.

SINOSSI
The restaurant “Arturo al Portico”, run by Flora, witnesses the stories, the dialogues and the adventures of the customers and of the kitchen staff, which reveal their misfortunes, their lives and their stories. Like Isabella and her daughter Sabrina, who has a hard time telling her mother that she intends to enter a convent or like the amusing and complicated love between a married philosophy professor and a student. Like the conversation held by two actors about their new play or the couple who talks about the future of their relationship (she is pregnant) while a seductive woman is sitting at the table next to them. All of it, punctuated by the speeches of the kitchen chef, a communist disenchanted by politics.
