within the Festival “PhotoMed Beyrouth 2015”
The Italian Cultural Institute participates to the Second Edition of “Photomed Beyrouth” – a projection of the well-known “Photomed” event of Sanary-sur-Mer – organized by the association Horizons Middle East, in collaboration with the Italian Embassy, the Italian Cultural Institute and other Lebanese and foreign institutional partners. The photographic exhibition “Mediterraneo” by the Italian photographer Mimmo Jodice has been chosen as an opening event for this second edition of the festival. Mimmo Jodice, born in Naples in 1934, is one of the best known names of world’s Contemporary Photography. Throughout his career, Jodice’s work ran a double thread: on the one hand a surreal and uneasy vision of urban landscapes and on the other hand a consideration to the imprints of the past on the present and, at the same time, a research of his roots and of the myths of Mediterranean.
