IDD 2023 – ITALIAN DESIGN DAY – VIIth EDITION

The Italian Cultural Institute and the Italian Embassy celebrate this year the VII edition of the Italian Design Day.

The event was born in 2017 to promote abroad the best of Italian furniture, architecture and design.

The theme of the 2023 Italian Design Day is Quality that illuminates. The energy of design for people and the environment and is intended to be the expression of a program that touches on fundamental issues for the planet. With its intellectual and productive energy, Italian design wants to help bring light to a period in which shadows and darkness seem to prevail, and to do so by using that quality which has always been its hallmark. In this context, the word quality is not so much a synonym for luxury but rather a factor of sustainable and responsible development. Quality is a connecting element that links Italian design to top level manufacturing via a complex interconnected chain in an action that is not self-referential but integrated into an efficient and shared system. Italian Design Day is a consolidated part of this context, made possible by the sharing of a vast number of voices who are generously and selflessly making intelligence and resources available to everyone worldwide.

The Italian Design Day consists of an extensive program of promotional events, organized all over the world, by the network of Embassies, Consulates, Italian Cultural Institutes and ITA-Italian Trade Agency offices abroad.

The Italian Design Day is organized in collaboration with the Fondazione ADI Collezione Compasso d’Oro, ADI Associazione per il Disegno Industriale, Triennale Milano, Salone del Mobile Milano, Federlegno Arredo, ITA Italian Trade Agency.
