The Al Bustan International Festival of Music and Performing Arts, under the patronage of the Embassy of Italy in Lebanon and the Italian Cultural Institute of Beirut, presents an enchanting evening of celebrated tango arias.

The programme features masterpieces by two of the twentieth century’s most iconic composers, Astor Piazzolla and Carlos Gardel, promising a passionate and unforgettable musical journey.

Biographies:

Gloria Campaner is an internationally renowned Italian pianist, born in Jesolo (Venice) in 1986. She began playing piano at the age of four and performed from a young age with important orchestras, building a global concert career in Europe, Asia, America, Africa, and the Middle East. Her repertoire spans from classical masterpieces to contemporary music, with high-level artistic collaborations and numerous international awards. Campaner is known for her versatility and projects that combine classical music, jazz, and visual arts. She founded the educational project C# – See Sharp for young talents and collaborates in prestigious events such as the trio with Alessandro Carbonare and Mario Stefano Pietrodarchi in the tango repertoire.

Alessandro Carbonare is one of the most important contemporary Italian clarinetists, born in Desenzano del Garda. He was principal clarinet of the Orchestre National de France for 15 years and since 2003 has been principal clarinet of the Orchestra of the Accademia Nazionale di Santa Cecilia in Rome, with which he has collaborated with the world’s leading orchestras. He has won prestigious international competitions and teaches at leading conservatories and music academies. Carbonare performs as a soloist and in chamber music, spanning classical repertoire, jazz, and klezmer, and is also a member of the Bibiena Quintet.

Mario Stefano Pietrodarchi is an Italian virtuoso of bandoneon and accordion, born in Atessa (Chieti) in 1980. He began studying accordion at the age of nine, later focusing on the bandoneon, and graduated with honors from the Accademia Nazionale di Santa Cecilia in Rome. He has won important national and international competitions and performs in festivals and theaters worldwide. Pietrodarchi is known for his refined interpretation of the tango repertoire and for collaborations with major artists and orchestras; his instrument often interacts with piano and clarinet in projects dedicated to contemporary tango.

Chiara Benati is an Italian dancer specialized in Argentine tango, active in major national and international dance festivals and performances. With great technique and expressive sensitivity, she interprets tango as a body language and emotional narrative, often in duo with Andrea Vighi, presenting the various facets of the genre from traditional to contemporary.

Andrea Vighi is an Italian dancer of Argentine tango, known for his technical mastery and ability to tell stories through movement. He performs in major festivals and shows with Chiara Benati, with whom he forms a close artistic partnership appreciated in the international tango scene.
