Organized by the Delegation of the European Union to Lebanon, in partnership with Metropolis Cinema and in cooperation with the European Union Member States, the Festival features a thrilling selection of films from Europe, as well as short films by emerging Lebanese filmmakers, thus offering the spectators a cinematic journey that bridges cultures and celebrates the art of storytelling.
The Italian Cultural Institute participates to the Festival with two beautiful Italian movies!
THE EIGHT MOUNTAINS – Directed by Felix van Groeningen and Charlotte Vandermeersch – Italy/France/Belgium, 2022
Based on the 2017 Strega Prize-winning book by Paolo Cognetti, winner of the Cannes Jury Prize in 2022, The Eight Mountains is a tenderly-told story of boyhood and friendship in the astonishing landscapes of Northern Italy.
NOSTALGIA – Directed by Mario Martone – Italy/France, 2022
Based on a 2016 novel by Ermanno Rea, NOSTALGIA gradually reveals itself as the parable of a man and a city swaying between redemption and damnation. Vibrantly capturing the pulsing heart of Naples, it’s a deeply felt exploration of the complexity of homecoming.
