Music for Friendship

The Italian Cultural Institute, in cooperation with UNIFIL and the Greek-Catholic (Melkite) Archbishop of Tyre, participates with two concerts to Music for Friendship, an event which comes as part of the celebrations organized at the initiative of the Italian contingent in occasion of the 36 years of UNIFIL at the service of the South Lebanon populations, under the patronage of the Italian Embassy and the Italian Cultural Institute. The first concert will take place on March 18th at the UNIFIL base of Naqoura (Mosan Center of Tyre, 4:30 pm), with the participation of two Italian groups, “Vibrazioni Mediterranee” and “Dangerous Crew”, which will respectively play music from the popular repertoire of Southern Italy and international pop music. The second concert will take place on March 27th at 7 pm in the Greek- Catholic (Melkite) St. Thomas Cathedral of Tyre, with a repertoire of opera and classical music performed by an Italian-Lebanese Trio composed of Salvatore Scinaldi (piano), Mario Rahi (violin) and Raymond Ghattas (baritone). Music for Frienship was organized to support the activities of Meiss El Jebel’s Social Development Centre, Bourj El Molouk Orphanage and Al Hanan School for Children with Special Needs in Frun.
