Contemporary performance “UNTITLED_I WILL BE THERE WHEN YOU DIE”
The Italian Cultural Institute participates to the 12th Edition of the BIPOD Festival, organized by Maqamat Dance Theatre. BIPOD is an annual contemporary dance platform and one of the most important dance festivals in the region. This year, it will present the performance UNTITLED_I WILL BE THERE WHEN YOU DIE by the Italian choreographer and performing artist Alessandro Sciarroni. The performance is a choreographic and performative practice on the passing of time born out of a reflection on the art of juggling. The idea is to strip away all the stereotypes that are commonly associated with this circus art in the collective imagination to allow its exploration as a language. Practice, rule, discipline, commitment, concentration, are the building blocks of this work that force the actors to stay in the present time, no chance to go back, again and again and again.

Italy will also be represented in Moultaqa Leymoun, with 8 Italian artistic directors of some of the major dance companies and festival organizers in Italy. Moultaqa Leymoun is a meeting for emerging and established dance artists together with international dance professionals, critics, and producers. Its purpose is to create a pan-Arab Contemporary Dance collaborative network that allows for the sharing and dissemination of information about the work of Arab dance artists, choreographers, and practitioners.
