SYNOPSIS
La Grazia – Directed by Paolo Sorrentino – Italy, 2025
The film follows the final months in office of Mariano De Santis, President of the Italian Republic. A disciplined man, deeply bound to his principles and marked by a complex private life, De Santis is confronted with two delicate requests for clemency and a law on euthanasia, forcing him to face the limits of personal conscience and institutional responsibility.
In the silence of power and the solitude of decision-making, the film offers an intimate and reflective portrait of political responsibility, alternating between public duty and private fragility. It becomes a meditation on doubt, morality, and the weight of irreversible choices.
