The Italian Cultural Institute of Beirut presents 4 docufilms - made by Stefilm as part of the "Food Markets" series - on the markets of Turin, Florence, Palermo and Cagliari.
The fourth docufilm is on the Market of Cagliari.
The San Benedetto market in Cagliari is the belly of the island. It is one of the largest fresh produce markets in Europe and it is said to be the largest fish market in Europe. A food lover's paradise, where every vendor has a story to tell. Artichokes and cheese abound on the stalls and the variety of fish is breathtaking. Clams, tuna and “bottarga” i.e. fish roe, together with saffron and mastic oil, make it unique.
