8° BAFF | ENNIO: THE MAESTRO

This portrait of the life and extraordinary work of the legendary Italian composer, Ennio Morricone stems from a lengthy interview. He composed such iconic soundtracks as The Good, the Bad and the Ugly, Once Upon a Time in the West, Mission and The Untouchables. Morricone recounts as a composer how he gradually became involved in film music, when he had a propensity to experimental and abstract works. Ennio Morricone has always composed in silence, using only a pencil and paper. A captivating portrait of a musical genius, richly complemented by archival footage and recollections of colleagues and filmmakers such as Clint Eastwood, Dario Argento, Barry Levinson, Roland Joffé, Oliver Stone, Quentin Tarantino, Bruce Springsteen and Hans Zimmer.
