The IIC participates in the project "Together for Lebanon", promoted by the GAK - Karalitan Archaeological Group, in collaboration with the TDM 2000 Association, the Italian Cultural Institute in Beirut and the Language and Translation Center of the Faculty of Humanities in the Lebanese University (which has an Italian Department – a unicum in Lebanon - offering a three-year degree course and a master's degree course in Italian language and culture).
The project, born a few years ago following a cultural exchange with the Italian Cultural Institute of Beirut, includes a two-week study trip to Cagliari for five male students and two female students of the Lebanese State University. Their stay will be covered by the GAK from July 15th to 29th, whereas the Italian Cultural Institute in Beirut supports their travel expenses.
The students will have the opportunity to get to know cities and sites representative of Sardinian history and culture, and will be able to socialize with other girls and other boys from different European countries. They will see Cagliari as a city open to young people, with an international flair, where they can talk about the future and learn how to plan it. Even Lebanese students, despite the tragic economic and political situation in their country, have the right to prepare for a near future of international collaboration.
