On Monday, June 21st, on the occasion of the World Music Day, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation presents a project for the promotion of Italian music abroad: Music For Uncertain Times. A journey in three videos broadcast by the network of Italian Embassies, Consulates and Italian Cultural Institutes abroad, as well as the Vimeo channel of italiana, the Ministry’s portal dedicated to the promotion of Italian language, culture and creativity in the world.
Commissioned by the Farnesina, written by Andrea Lai and directed by Francesco Coppola, the project consists of three unpublished and exclusive musical video performances. The videos were recorded by a few protagonists of contemporary Italian music, in some representative landmarks of the country's cultural heritage: Francesca Michielin and Vasco Brondi in the Museo del Novecento in Milan, Fiorella Mannoia and Clementino at the Castel dell'Ovo in Naples and La Rappresentante di Lista at Palazzo Butera in Palermo.

A path that creates a dialogue between music, cultural heritage and cinematographic language. Three architectural gems set the general frame: the oldest castle in Naples, one of the latest museums in Milan, a monumental complex that is a symbol of Palermo. In these places, contemporary Italian pop is the protagonist, with three live performances, both exclusive and in a new version. The spotlights set on the music then turn into reflections on the music made during these uncertain times, through the words of the artists, collected immediately after the performances.
The videos are available for free and exclusively on the site italiana
