FARE CINEMA 2021 – “BOOK TO SCREEN: From paper to series: the cases of Montalbano, Gomorrah and The brilliant friend”

In the framework of the Fourth Edition of “Fare Cinema”, titled this year “Reboot – Italian cinema restarts”:

In collaboration with the Turin International Book Fair, three documentaries that tell the process of making television series based on three successful books: the saga of “Commissario Montalbano” by Andrea Camilleri, Gomorra by Roberto Saviano and The brilliant friend by Elena Ferrante. Through interviews with authors, editors, directors, actors, producers and the director of the International Book Fair, Nicola Lagioia, Book To Screen tells the necessary characteristics needed to transpose a bestseller on the small and big screen.

In addition to being made available on the Italian Vimeo channel (vimeo.com/italianaesteri), the films will be broadcast on the digital channels of the Turin International Book Fair. And each documentary will create a bridge with the future, anticipating another upcoming series or film with an interview with the authors whose book has been optioned for transposition rights: Sarah. The girl from Avetrana (Fandango) by Flavia Piccinini and Carmine Gazzanni, Born for you. The history of Alba told between us (Einaudi) by Luca Trapanese and Luca Mercadante and The children’s train (Einaudi) by Viola Ardone.
