A journey to discover Italy. It is a special project of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, organized in collaboration with the Italian National Commission for UNESCO and created by Edizioni Piemme-Mondadori Libri. It aims to bringing girls and boys from all over the world closer to the artistic and cultural wonders of Italy.

In A Thousand Wonders, Geronimo Stilton and his entire family travels the Boot to discover cities, villages, stories and landscapes. From Rome to Venice, from the Apennines to the Alps, the friendly reporter visits the most famous monuments and places (including many of the Italian sites included in the UNESCO World Heritage List) as well as the hidden jewels: lesser-known treasures, specialties restaurants, places of scientific research, handicraft and industrial products. An adventure imagined as a real treasure hunt, full of games, curiosities and surprises.

The digital version will be freely available from May 26 on italiana.esteri.it, the new site of the Farnesina dedicated to the promotion of culture, creativity and the Italian language.

Born in New Mouse City, the capital of Mouse Island, Geronimo Stilton is Rattus Emeritus of Mousomorphic Literature and of Neo-Ratonic Comparative Philosophy. He directs The Rodent's Gazette, the most famous newspaper on Mouse Island, founded by his grandfather William Shortpaws, also known as Cheap Mouse Willy. In his spare time, Geronimo collects antique cheese rinds of the eighteenth century, but loves above all writing books, with exceptional success.
