The Italian Cultural Institute is pleased to report an original initiative born from a spontaneous group of citizens of the city of San Donà di Piave and its surroundings, aimed at bring ingDante into everyday life, on the occasion of the 700th anniversary of the poet's death.
34 improvised readers, in about 8 minutes and every day from 20 February to 25 March - the national day of Dante - will read or recite a chant from Inferno, the first Canticle of the Divine Comedy. A group which includes, in equal numbers, adult men and women who by training, profession, age and origin, represent a sample of the local communities.
The project takes on a particular significance in this pandemic period, making of culture a bridge between people through the opportunities of the digital world. An initiative that becomes a participation opportunity for the territory that can involve and move everyone. This is yet another proof that Dante's greatness is timeless and that poetry can be part of our everyday life as an experience of authentic beauty.
The videos of the readings, which can be followed with its texts thanks to the editing of Piave TV which collaborated in the initiative promoted by the citizens, will be available every day starting at 18.00 on the FB page of the City of San Donà di Piave and on the YouTube channel San Donà Legge Dante.
