“Italian between word and image: graffiti, illustrations, comics”
The XX edition of the Week of the Italian Language in the World, scheduled from 19 to 25 October 2020, is focused this year on the theme "Italian between word and image: graffiti, illustrations , comics". All events and activities will be based on all the expressive forms that enhance the Italian language through images, and particularly comics, graphic novels and more generally the publishers for young people.
Among the partners of this year: the Universities and the institutions of Higher Education in Art, Music and Dance (AFAM), the MiBACT and its Center for book and reading (CePeLL) which will participate with a series of online activities on the theme of Italy as a "vocabulary": illustrators and graphic novelists will graphically represent one or more words according to their vision of art. Moreover, the Accademia della Crusca will curate a collection of essays on the theme of the event.
Furthermore, Lucca Comics will insert the competition for young comics talents, organized annually, among the initiatives of the Week.
As usual, the Swiss Confederation will collaborate through its diplomatic representations with the Italian representations abroad for the organization of events and activities.
