NEW ITALIAN BOOKS – Press conference to present the new website dedicated to the worldwide promotion of Italian books.

On 11 June at 11:30 am Italian time, New Italian Books will be presented to the public. It is a new website dedicated to the most valid and interesting contemporary Italian books and authors, in order to promote the translation in different languages. The site has Italian and English version.

New Italian Books is an initiative by the TRECCANI Institute, the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, the Center for Books and for Reading (MiBACT) and the Association of Italian Editors, aiming at promoting Italian writers and books all around the world. It addresses editors, publishers and copyright agencies, as well as teachers, students of Italian language and all Italian culture lovers.

The presentation will be broadcasted in live streaming on TRECCANI’s Facebook channel and will be introduced by Marina Sereni, Deputy-Minister for Foreign Affairs.

Other key speakers will be Amb. Lorenzo Angeloni (MAECI), Massimo Bray (Director of Treccani), Romano Montroni (President of Cepell – MiBACT) and Riccardo Franco Levi (President of AIE).

After the press conference, a round table will follow, with the participation of the writer Helena Janeczek (winner of Strega award in 2018) and Federico Andornino (Editor of Weidenfeld & Nicolson press). Cristina Feloci (Journalist) will be the moderator.
