Theater play “Don’t call them bandits”

Carlo and Cosimo Capitoni are two brothers who become brigands out of need and face a series of tragicomic misadventures in Apulia between 1859 and 1863. While they are living their own stories, the country is experiencing the Unification of Italy and the born of the new Kingdom. It is a brilliant tale, directed by Marcello Cotugno who, not only describes the difficulties met by the Italian lower-middle class facing the fate, but also explains the role of Brigand and the reasons of its born.
