Installation “Follow Ergo Sum”

The installation is exhibited within the Biennial of Contemporary Art – Universal Data of the MACAM-Modern and Contemporary Art Museum of Alita (Byblos).

Follow ergo sum, a multimedia installation by the Italian artist and architect Daniele Zerbi,invites the viewer to reflect on the relationship between universal data and contemporary art, focusing on the aspect of the ambiguity of the information. The advent of social networks has defined a new way of communicate art through a juxtaposition of numbers that define indices about approval through likes, following and sharing.

The digital artwork is being creating based on numbers of likes, followers and comments on Instagram. An algorithm will capture this data and transform it in different colors and strokes depending on interaction online.
