Workshop: Sustainable Retail Design and Usability: People Interaction

The Italian Cultural Institute and the Saint Esprit University of Kaslik organize, for the students in design of the USEK, a workshop given by the well-known designer Giorgio A. De Ponti, Professor at the Faculty of Design (technology of materials for industrial drawing) of the Politecnico di Milano.

Shopping is part and parcel of our daily lives. Yet it is far from being an ordinary experience. In fact, one should address the topic in terms of “The Infinite Shopping Experience”. Our task, as innovative designers, is to conceive and study all the facets of the shopping phenomenon in order to acquire the ability to enable a fruitful interaction between customer and product. It is important to take the user experience into account. The product is everything we are touching, watching, smelling, hearing, and so on in a retail compartment. User research is conducted in such a way as to understand the users’ characteristics, aims, and behaviors. The mainstream experience is to generate a comfortable space where people of all walks of life easily interact with each other.
